Maine Coon
Colors & Patterns

The Maine Coon breed is available in a variety of colors and patterns except pointed (pale body and relatively darker extremities, i.e. the face, ears, feet, tail and in males, scrotum). The most typical colors and patterns are brown, red (orange) or silver tabbies (with or without white), and in classic ( bold, swirling patterns along the sides, mackerel (which is the classic tabby) or ticked patterns. In most recent years, breeders have been producing solid colored cats in black, white, and blue (grey). The Black smoke and Blue smoke colors are also highly wanted.  There are also white colors, but white usually has an underlying color since white is not considered a color.

Socialization

At MurrKatz, every kitten is raised inside our home and handled daily from the time they are born. They grow up around adults, children and dogs, which helps them develop confidence, curiosity and a steady temperament. Because they experience normal household sounds, gentle handling and lots of interaction, our kittens leave for their new homes well-adjusted and ready to settle comfortably into family life. We believe that early socialization is one of the most important parts of raising exceptional Maine Coons, and we take great care to ensure every kitten receives the attention and exposure they need to thrive.

Community

When you adopt a MurrKatz kitten, you become part of a growing family of owners who truly love and celebrate their Maine Coons. We stay connected with our families long after adoption, and we enjoy seeing updates, photos and stories as the kittens grow. Many of our families share their experiences with us, and their kindness and support have created a community built on trust, appreciation and a shared love for this incredible breed. Being part of the MurrKatz community means you’ll always have guidance, encouragement and a place to share your kitten’s journey.
